Eanes Energy Management - E2M
_
Eanes Energy Management (or E2M for short) is part of the Eanes ISD Maintenance & Operations department. We focus on the mechanical side of reducing energy consumption. We also oversee the student Green Team and judge the district wide Green Games competition. While Green Teams are specific to each campus and decide their own goal, structure, and activities; E2M is happy to visit with your students and teachers on ideas and explain the purpose of Green Team. We also provide Lesson Topics every month, Everyday Actions and campus Updates via this website to help your campus get inspired.
What the Energy Management Department Does:
Monitors heating and cooling equipment for all district buildings to ensure they are working efficiently and within appropriate real-time temperature settings. Sets schedules of lighting and HVAC at after-hours events. Installs up-to-date energy saving equipment like LED lighting and occupancy sensors. Applies for Energy rebates. Monitors and tracks utility consumption and spending. Oversees the Campus Conservation Committees and student Green Teams.
Our goal is to have all campus meet EPA Energy Star ratings. As of the summer of 2012, Eanes Elementary, Bridge Point, Forest Trail and West Ridge have been awarded Energy Star plaques.

Our Name & Mascot
_E2M is our abbreviation for Eanes Energy Management. Basically our initials are EEM which translates to E to the 2nd power M. Getting the exponent to display in type can be tricky so E2M works the easiest.
Our cute little light bulb guy is our new mascot we developed in 2012. He embodies our initiative to go green as well as team spirit and campus pride.

_Utility Tracking
_We use School Dude software for recording and tracking our bills
via UtilityDirect and ConserveDirect which ties in with our EPA
Portfolio Manager and our work order system MaintenanceDirect. Check
back on this page for updates on usage and cost figures for each campus.

New Gym Lights with Motion Occupancy Sensors
_All of our schools have gotten new more energy efficient
and
brighter gym lighting. Using Bond funds and Energy Rebates during the summer of 2012, this
brings all our gyms up
to the recommended competition level of bright even lighting. They also
have occupancy sensors to automatically turn off when the gym is empty.
Took out 400watt HID metal halide lights which are not as bright and
take a few minutes to turn on fully. Replaced with 308 watt T5 lights.
