Green Games 2012-2013
- Eanes ISD schools compete to reduce utility consumption & learn about creating a sustainable environment.
- Winning schools will receive a percentage of the savings from utility bills back for an educational program of their choice for next year or other prizes.
Spring 2013 Event: Go Green Day
The Green Games event for the Spring is to organize a Go Green Day at your campus where you raise awareness by wearing Green clothing or ribbons and talking about sustainability. This can be incorporated into Earth Day activities in April or anytime this Spring semester.

Volunteers Needed for Green Team
If you are a student, parent or staff and would like to volunteer please email our Energy Manager David Hoedebeck.
Got Pumpkins? Dropoff Locations
Barton Creek Elementary 11-2-12
Parent & student volunteers will be collecting pumpkins for BCE and WRMS during morning “Drop- Off” OR if you prefer, place your pumpkins in the trailer parked behind the school anytime Friday Nov 2nd. See results from last year's pumpkin recycle event. The trailer will leave BCE after school.
Westlake High School 11-2-12
Drop off by NGC practice field from 7am - 9am or 3:30 to 4:30pm or if you prefer anytime that day by just placing it in the designated garden area. (Place your pumpkin in the student garden area behind the 9th Grade Center (near the southside of the baseball field / north of the practice football field, see map below). Accepting pumpkins from any of the surrounding Eanes ISD schools in the assigned location. Trailer will leave WHS after school at 4:45pm on Fri Nov 2nd.

We try our best to make the games fair and adjust for the size of the school & number of students. The goal is educational awareness with the bonus of prizes or money back from utility bill savings.
Green Games Score Sheet: Max Points
1. Energy Consumption Reduction 20 pts
2. Energy Star rating increase 20 pts
3. Fall Contest: Got Pumpkins? - recycling 10 pts
4. Spring Contest: Go Green Day 10 pts
5. Earth Day Activities 10 pts
6. Lowest Cost per Sq Ft 10 pts
7. Active mini-audits 5 pts
8. Active composting / garden 5 pts
9. Active bottle & paper recycling 5 pts
10. Team Spirit 5 pts
Max Score 100 pts
Green Games Winner will be the school with the highest score.
Explanation of Scoring:
1. Greatest percentage decrease in energy consumption vs previous year
2. Greatest percentage increase in energy star rating compared to July 2012 rating
3. Pumpkin recycling (similar to Christmas tree recycling) = number of pumpkins vs enrollment
4. Go Green Day - wear green shirt to promote awareness = number of green vs enrollment
5. Earth Day Activities - planning up to school - basically a yes or no score
6. Lowest Cost per Sq Ft compared to previous year
7. Active student mini energy audits = turn in 2 or more audits results to E2M
8. Composting or gardening = basically a yes or no score
9. Bottle & paper recycling = basically a yes or no score
10. Team Spirit = are they turning in updates to E2M
